Dans le cadre du projet "Space Now"
conduit en partenariat entre Caza d'oro et Les Abattoirs / Frac Midi Pyrénées. Un projet qui s’appuie sur l’une des spécificités de la Région Midi-Pyrénées, à savoir les activités liées à l’espace et qui poursuit un double objectif : formuler une nouvelle culture (ou une nouvelle poétique) de l’espace en repositionnant la création artistique au centre des dispositifs d’invention et de décision.
Bradley Pitts décrit son travail comme une forme ontologique de recherche dans lequel le "vide", pour lui équivaut à la notion de "vrai", et sont en jeu. En subvertissant les valeurs positivistes des méthodes qu’il utilise, il replace la science et la technologie à un endroit où ils peuvent être utilisés comme outils de réflexion philosophique, comme une investigation de la réalité, une enquête.
Bradley Pitts né en 1978, a grandi à New York, puis il s’est installé à Boston où il a étudié au Massachusetts Institute of Technology, il y a obtenu deux diplômes en génie aérospatial en même temps qu’il y a étudié l’architecture et les arts visuels. En 2006, il part pour Amsterdam où il est accueilli en résidence comme artiste et chercheur en Art-Science au kunsten Rijksakademie van beeldende. Récemment, il a collaboré avec l’Académie royale néerlandaise des arts et des sciences (NL) et a suivi avec grand intérêt l’entraînement des cosmonautes au Gagarine Center (RU).
Ce projet s’inscrit donc bien dans un des axes du projet artistique et culturel des Résidences de Recherche et de Création de Caza d’oro qui est « art & science » et qui permet de mettre en parallèle le travail des artistes accueillis et les contextes des découvertes et de la recherche scientifique vivante.
